Grateful

I was reading a book on how to change my attitude about work. I know, you are thinking "what attitude", but some days I HATE going to work. Anywho.. this book said to list the things that you are grateful for. Not necessarily work related, but just 5 things that you are grateful for. After you get those 5 things now think... if I did not have this job would these 5 things be possible? Would you have the nice home, the cars, happy kids that are way too spoiled? (Okay, I added in the last part). Maybe I read this book just at the right time in my life, but it made me realize that although I would love to be a stay at home Mom, most of the good things in my life would not be possible if not for the job that I have. I would not have a nice home where all the Freshman in Hurricane hang out. I would not have my 1st totally new car that I love to drive. We would not be able to take care of Trent's parents, my kids would not be so well adjusted and able to do so many things on their own. So, although I thought many of my "dreams" had not come true if I really look at it, the most important ones have. I have healthy happy children who on occassion think that I am the best Mom ever, I have a husband who adores me more than anything (even the Jazz I think!) and we are setting a good example not only for our wonderful children but for all the bajillion of kids that are a constant at our house.
I am grateful!

Happy New year!

We love our anual New years eve party. We tried to invite new people each year to add to our already fun bunch. This year the Housley's joined in the festivities. 4 couples, kids, food, fun, and games. What another great night.

What do teenage boys do?

Brock's friends love to come over to our house to hang out. Sometimes they think of the craziest things to do. On this day they decided that Cody needed to be duct-taped, put on a dolly with a mask on his face, and left on the neighbors doorstep. Luckily our neighbors thought that this was a great joke and did not get freaked out. Oh to be 15 again and not have a care in the world!

Christmas time

Santa came to our house for a hair cut this year. McKenzie and I had a great time shaving his head and beard. We had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Mitchell. We opened presents, played games and went to a movie. Fun times!

What a week we had at the Fenton's for Christmas. Grandma had to go to the hospital for an infection in her leg, two days later Grandpas was in the hospital with a kidney infection. We got to have a little celebration with them.

At home the dogs thought that all the gifts should probably be theirs. They ate a whole canister of treats on Christmas.

It's a first

While up in the Salt Lake area we decided to try to go to the Jazz game. How lucky were we when we were actually able to get all four of us in for $100. This is a first for all of us except Trent. We were pretty high up there, but there is not really a bad seat in the house. We had a lot of fun..... even if the Jazz did lose!

Stupid Jazz

We watched a preseason Jazz game the other night and the whole time I am thinking that the Jazz are stupid for letting Kyle Korver go. Known to many as Socks, Ken Doll, and Cutie patootie he will be missed in this household. At least by me. :0(
